The night before the hike we stayed in Monticello, Utah. It was quite the place! We wanted to get some swimming trunks for the hot tub, and we asked a little kid at the grocery store where we could get some. He said we could try the "merk". The "merk." What the heck is that? Well, it turns out it was short for the mercantile, a clothing store. That little experience summed up our whole stay. Small town...let's just say...they're fun to visit if you are just passing through.
Canyonland's is amazing. The hike was inspiring. We camped in the most beautiful desert valley I have ever seen!
